Our Aussie women are excelling on the opening day of US Open qualifying, with Priscilla Hon, Lizette Cabrera, Maddison Inglis, Arina Rodionova and Jaimee Fourlis all progressing!

Queenslander, Priscilla Hon, has led the Australian charge in the first round of US Open qualifying, beating France’s Harmony Tan in straight sets to seal her place in round two by claiming a 6-4 7-5 win on Monday to seal a meeting with Germany’s Katharina Hobgarski as she seeks a place in the main draw of the season’s final grand slam.

Nineteen-year-old Melburnian Jaimee Fourlis recovered from losing the opening set to overcome Germany’s Antonia Lottner 5-7 6-4 6-4 and secure a match-up with Russian Ludmilla Samsonova.

Arina Rodionova also moved into the second round as she proved too good for Hungarian Fanny Stollar with a comfortable 6-4 6-2 victory.

We look forward to watching how the rest of our Aussie superstars play on the court!
