    ANZ Hot Shots
    April 11, 2019
Keep your children active and allow them to develop valuable mobility skills to help assist their movement development with tennis! ANZ Tennis Hot Shots is TENNIS FOR KIDS! It’s the only junior tennis program endorsed by Tennis Australia and it is designed to help every child, no matter their age or ability, start playing tennis. ANZ Tennis Hot Shots is played on smaller courts with modified equipment, including lighter racquets, lower nets and low compression balls that don’t bounce too high, making it easier for children to hit and in turn enhancing their satisfaction and learning experience. Each lesson takes place in a nurturing environment which promotes participation and inclusion. Stonnington Tennis offers small classes with qualified and dedicated Tennis Australia coaches. At Stonnington Tennis, your child will have their Coach as well as a roaming Senior Coach to assist them. This is a unique initiative to assist the development and confidence of students and provides for a better player-to-coach ratio. Find out more and enquire here

    This Girl Can!
    April 11, 2019
Did you know 62% of women in Victoria say they want to become more physically active? That's why 'This Girl Can - Victoria' begun their celebration of women being active, no matter how they look or their skills. They support gender equality by challenging traditional gender roles (sporty and active as male traits) and by celebrating women who are fit and strong. Through their research, they found that women were worrying about being judged when they exercise, and often were too embarrassed or intimidated to exercise in public. That's why This Girl Can – Victoria is about giving it a go and getting active; no matter how well you do it, how you look, or how sweaty you get. Whether it’s a walk in the park, a gym sesh, a killer run, or gathering a few gal pals for a game of netball, there are so many ways to get active. Here are just a few ideas to help you get started One of the sports they suggest is tennis! If you're looking to learn more about the sport and receive some recreational or competitive lessons, for children, adolescent or adults, see here! We also have the opportunity to book courts so you can come down with your friends and have a fun, low-key, social game on your own terms!

Malvern players wake up with Today…
    May 16, 2019
Malvern Tennis Centre was in full ‘swing’ bright and early on Saturday 6th April as the newly refurbished Centre was broadcast nationwide on Channel 9’s breakfast program, the Today Show. Tennis legends, Daria Gavrilova and Todd Woodbridge joined Today’s sports presenter, Clint Stanaway for the morning, conducting the program’s live sports segments from Malvern’s centre court. Many of the Malvern players also featured in the live broadcast, showcasing our tennis programs including ANZ Hot Shots and Fitbit Cardio during each live cross. When the cameras stopped rolling, our youngest players hung out with Dasha and Woodbridge, who not only had a hit with the Malvern kids but also shared their tennis experiences, tips and offered coaching advice.   IMG_6422IMG_6431IMG_6480IMG_6438IMG_6455IMG_6439IMG_6437
